Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 22, 2026
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
Assurance Group of America, Inc. (“Assurance Group,” “we,” “us”) is an independent insurance agency specializing in commercial truck insurance. We are a Florida corporation located at 1631 NW St Lucie West Blvd, Suite 101, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986, licensed, as of the effective date, in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Virginia, and expanding to other states. This policy applies to visitors and customers in every U.S. state; section 11 sets out additional rights under particular state laws.
This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you:
- visit www.assurancegroupofamerica.com or use our online tools and quote forms;
- chat with us on our website, including with our automated assistant;
- call us, receive a call from us, or exchange text messages or email with us;
- use our client portal; or
- become a client and we arrange, service or renew insurance for you.
If you are a client, we also send you an annual privacy notice as required by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Florida’s insurance privacy rules. If that notice and this policy ever differ for a client, the notice controls.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. To quote, place and service insurance, we collect:
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Contact details | Name, business name, phone, email, mailing and garaging address |
| Business and operations | USDOT and MC numbers, years in business, radius, commodities hauled, revenue, mileage |
| Drivers | Names, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers and states, experience, violations and accidents |
| Vehicles and equipment | Year, make, model, VIN, value, loss payees |
| Insurance history | Current and prior insurers, policy numbers, loss runs, claims |
| Financial and payment | Down-payment and premium-finance details you choose to give us. We do not store card or bank account numbers on our systems. |
| Communications | Messages, chat transcripts, emails, and recordings of calls where you were told the call is recorded |
Information collected automatically. When you use our website, we and our service providers collect device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit, using cookies and similar technologies (see section 8).
Information from other sources. We obtain information from public federal records, such as motor carrier registration, safety and insurance-filing data; from insurance companies, managing general agents and premium finance companies; from motor vehicle and loss-history reports used in underwriting; and from lead and referral partners when you have asked them to connect you with an insurance agent.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- prepare quotes, submit applications to insurance companies, and place, bind, service and renew your policies;
- arrange premium financing when you choose to finance a policy;
- issue certificates of insurance and handle endorsements, audits and claims support;
- monitor your USDOT record and insurance filings so we can warn you of lapses, pending cancellations and compliance deadlines;
- answer your questions by phone, text, email and chat;
- send renewal reminders and service notices, and, with your permission where the law requires it, marketing about insurance and related trucking services;
- train and supervise our licensed agents and check the quality of our service;
- keep our systems secure, prevent fraud, and meet our legal, licensing and record-keeping duties; and
- improve our website, tools and services.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Insurance companies and managing general agents, to obtain quotes, underwrite, issue and service your policy and handle claims.
- Premium finance companies, when you ask us to arrange financing for your premium.
- Service providers that work on our behalf under contracts requiring them to protect your information and use it only for our services: telephone and text-message carriers, email delivery, website and data hosting, our agency management and customer-relationship systems, e-signature, and the automated chat assistant on our website.
- Partner companies that provide DOT compliance, roadside and trucking-business services to our clients, including DOT Services of America LLC. We share with them only to provide services you ask for, or, where the law allows, to tell you about services that may help your operation. You may tell us at any time not to share your information with partner companies for their marketing (see section 10).
- Legal and regulatory reasons: when required by law, subpoena or a regulator such as a state insurance department; to protect rights, property or safety; or to prevent fraud.
- A business transfer, if our agency or its book of business is sold or merged, under a duty to keep the information confidential.
As a licensed insurance agency, we follow the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the insurance privacy rules of the states where we are licensed. Driver records obtained from motor vehicle reports are used only for underwriting and are never shared for marketing.
5. Text messages (SMS)
When you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we use it only to contact you about your insurance quote, policy and account. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. This does not stop us using the telephone carriers and text-message providers that deliver our messages.
Agreeing to receive texts is never a condition of buying insurance. See our SMS Terms.
6. Calls, call recording and chat
Calls. We may call the number you give us about the quote or service you asked for. We do not call numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry for marketing unless the law allows it, for example because you are a client or asked us to call. We keep an internal do-not-call list, and we honour any request to stop calling.
Call recording. We record some calls for quality, training and to keep an accurate record of insurance instructions. We tell you at the start of a recorded call; if you do not want the call recorded, say so and we will stop recording or arrange another way to help you. Only authorised staff can access recordings, and we keep them for a limited period (see section 9).
Website chat and our automated assistant. Our website chat may first be answered by an automated assistant that uses artificial intelligence to answer general questions and collect quote details. It is not a licensed agent: it cannot bind, change or cancel coverage, and its answers about coverage are general information. A licensed agent reviews requests that need one. Chat transcripts are processed by our chat and AI service providers to provide the service, and are kept with your account.
7. Email and marketing choices
We send service email about your quote, policy, renewals and filings. With your consent, or where the law otherwise allows, we may also send newsletters and offers about insurance and trucking-business services.
- Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we act on requests within 10 business days.
- Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop service messages about your policy, such as renewal and cancellation notices.
- Marketing email identifies Assurance Group of America and includes our postal address.
8. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working (for example, remembering your session and protecting forms from spam), and to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, such as forms and the client portal, may not work without them. Our site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no common standard for them yet.
9. Security, retention and breach notification
Security. We protect personal information with administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections, access limited by staff role, two-step sign-in for staff, logged access to client records, and masking of driver’s license numbers and dates of birth on screen. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention. We keep personal information for as long as we need it to serve you and for as long as insurance licensing, tax and record-keeping laws require, then delete or de-identify it. Call recordings and chat transcripts are kept for shorter periods unless they form part of a policy or claim record.
If a breach happens. If personal information is accessed without authorization, we will notify affected people and regulators as required by the Florida Information Protection Act (section 501.171, Florida Statutes) and the laws of the other states where we operate.
10. Your rights and choices
- See and correct your information. You may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Several states where we are licensed give insurance consumers these rights by law, and we extend them to all our customers.
- Opt out of partner marketing. You may tell us not to share your information with partner companies for their marketing.
- Stop texts, calls or marketing email at any time: reply STOP to a text, ask us not to call, or use the unsubscribe link.
- Ask us to delete information we are not required to keep by law.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity first and respond within 30 days.
Children. Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy. We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell clients directly about material changes.

11. Additional rights under state law
We follow the privacy and insurance laws of every state where we do business, and of the state where you live. The rules below add to the rest of this policy.
Insurance information privacy laws. Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia, and a number of other states we may expand into, have insurance information and privacy protection acts. Where they apply, they give you the right to:
- be told what personal information we collect about you in connection with an insurance transaction, and from whom;
- see and get a copy of recorded personal information about you, and ask us to correct, amend or delete it, with a written response within 30 business days;
- receive the specific reasons, in writing, if an adverse underwriting decision is based on information we hold; and
- have us obtain your authorization before we disclose information in ways those laws restrict.
State consumer privacy laws. Several states, including Virginia, Indiana and Tennessee among our current states, and California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and others elsewhere, have consumer privacy laws that give rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of personal data, and to opt out of its sale, targeted advertising and certain profiling. Most of these laws exempt information held under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act or state insurance laws, which covers most client information. We still honour these requests for all customers: we do not sell personal information, do not use it for targeted advertising across other companies’ sites, and do not make automated decisions that have legal or similar effects on you. If you are not satisfied with our response to a request, you may appeal by replying to our response; where your state’s law provides it, we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general.
California residents. If the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to us, California residents have the rights described in this section, and we will not discriminate against you for using them. California’s “Shine the Light” law lets you ask whether we shared personal information with third parties for their direct marketing; we do not share it for that purpose without your consent.
Nevada residents. We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law. You may still send a request to the contact details in section 10.
Telephone and text rules. We follow the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act and state telemarketing laws, including Florida’s Telephone Solicitation Act and the state do-not-call lists of states that keep them. We call only between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. in your local time, and limit repeat calls as those laws require.
Call recording. Some states, including Florida and Pennsylvania, require the consent of everyone on a call before it is recorded. We announce recording at the start of every recorded call, wherever you are.
Data breach notification. Every state has a data breach notification law. If a breach affects you, we will notify you, and any regulator that must be told, under the law of the state where you live.
How to make a request. Email support@assurancegroupofamerica.com, call one of the numbers in section 10, or write to us at our office address. Say which state you live in and what you are asking for. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your written permission.
